Following Prince Louis' christening yesterday in London, Kate Middleton has made an unexpected appearance to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force today.

As the Duchess of Cambridge is still technically on maternity leave, she wasn't expected to attend the celebrations, which started at Westminster Abbey this morning. However, Kate arrived alongside her husband, Prince William, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. While Meghan Markle opted for an all black ensemble, Kate wore a stunning baby blue outfit, with nude heels:

The RAF celebrations have seen an impressive turnout by members of the royal so far, with the Queen, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall also attending the centennial. While Queen Elizabeth skipped Prince Louis' christening this week, she arrived at Westminster Abbey in extremely good spirits, wearing a matching purple and turquoise ensemble:

Prince Philip was sadly not in attendance at the celebrations, having also missed Prince Louis' christening.

Meanwhile, fresh from wearing an olive green Ralph Lauren dress to the christening, Meghan Markle wore a fitted black dress as she arrived at Westminster Abbey, with a bateau neckline reminiscent of her Givenchy wedding gown:

The service at Westminster Abbey starts today's celebrations, and will be followed by a parade of around 1,300 serving personnel, and then a celebratory flypast with up to 100 aircraft over Buckingham Palace. According to the RAF's website, the air force's actual 100th birthday was in April, with today's celebrations arrive 100 days after the anniversary.
