Kate Hudson Finally Weighs In on Controversial Nepo Baby Debate

Kate Hudson is the daughter of famous Hollywood actors Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson.

Kate Hudson is finally chiming in on the ongoing "Nepo Baby" debate that has been causing a stir in Hollywood over recent weeks. 

Nepo Babies, short for "nepotism babies," have been at the center of the controversy following a recent New York Magazine cover story that examined the boom of actors with famous parents and the advantages that their family bloodlines allow. 

The Glass Onion actress, 43, who happens to be a Hollywood legacy herself, is now giving her own two cents on the matter, revealing that she isn't too concerned with all the "nepo baby" chatter. 

"The nepotism thing, I mean...I don't really care," Hudson, who is the daughter of famous actors Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, told the Independent in a recent interview. "I look at my kids and we're a storytelling family. It's definitely in our blood. People can call it whatever they want, but it's not going to change it." 

"I actually think there are other industries where it's [more common]," she continued. "Maybe modeling? I see it in business way more than I see it in Hollywood. Sometimes I've been in business meetings where I'm like, 'Wait, whose child is this? Like, this person knows nothing!'" 

Hudson went on to say, "I don't care where you come from, or what your relationship to the business is—if you work hard and you kill it, it doesn't matter." 

But while Hudson's response to the "nepo baby" controversy was fairly neutral, other celebrities have had stronger reactions to the magazine cover, including Jamie Lee Curtis, the daughter of actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, who condemned the idea on her Instagram page last week.

"There's not a day in my professional life that goes by without my being reminded that I am the daughter of movie stars," Curtis wrote. "The current conversation about nepo babies is just designed to try to diminish and denigrate and hurt." 

Other celebrities who have also spoken out against the magazine cover include Lily Allen and Ice Cube's son, O'Shea Jackson Jr.
