Kate Beckinsale Just Reunited With Her Daughter After 2 Years Apart

Reunited and it feels so good.

Kate Beckinsale recently revealed the painful situation that she, like many families, found herself in throughout the coronavirus pandemic: being separated from her daughter. The actor is a mom to 22-year-old Lily Mo Sheen, whom she raised with ex-partner Michael Sheen.

“I haven’t seen my daughter for two years because of everything. Also, I went to Canada working and she couldn’t come see me,” she explained on Live with Kelly and Ryan, per People. “Two years of not seeing your child is the most preposterous thought.”

“Thank goodness for FaceTime and all that, but we’re both panicking that we’ll look really old to each other,” she continued. “My daughter's 22 and looks eight. So she’s like, ‘I’m just worried that you’re going to think I look old.’ I’m like, ‘I’m going to look old!’”

Thankfully, on July 23 the pair were finally reunited at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City, where Lily Mo and her boyfriend, David Schechter, picked up her mom, according to The Daily Mail.

In the photos, which you can see here, Beckinsale is wearing a black-and-white ensemble complete with joggers, a blazer, large sunglasses, a mask, and high-heeled shoes. Meanwhile, Lily Mo looks much more casual in a cropped T-shirt and oversized pants (she’s wearing a mask too, of course).

Though they couldn’t see each other in person until now, Beckinsale recently paid tribute to her daughter on her 22nd birthday. “Well 22 you sly dog. Happy birthday @lily_sheen the best person ever invented,” she wrote on Instagram in January, alongside a gorgeous black-and-white photo from Lily’s childhood. “Lucky lucky me (even after that volcanic poo you did in Tootsies shortly before this photo was taken ). 💕”

Last year Lily Mo wished her mom a happy birthday on Instagram as well, writing, “Happy birthday my beautiful amazing mama 💕✨ the only true Leo and the coolest person alive!!! I love you more than anything ever 💋.”
