The Kardashians producer explains what happened when Khloé found out about Tristan's affair

The Kardashians' new Hulu show is officially in full swing, taking us back through events affecting the famous family over the past year. One storyline that we've seen playing out in real time is, of course, the drama between Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson, after the basketball player confirmed he'd fathered a child as a result of his affair with Maralee Nichols.

Scenes showing Tristan confirming the news via a public statement are set to be aired on The Kardashians, with an executive producer for the show now opening up about exactly what happened when Khloé found out.

Speaking to Us Weekly, producer Danielle King, revealed that cameras were coincidentally rolling during the moment Khloé received the statement - and that her reaction accidentally ended up being caught on camera.

King explained that filming for The Kardashians involves a lot of "spontaneity", telling the publication that the crew will rally whenever the family have something going on, as opposed to sticking to a Monday-to-Friday schedule.

The producer went on to reveal that, as a result, cameras happened to already be rolling when Khloé received Tristan's statement. She explained, "Well for that particular moment, my crew was there. We were there to film something else early in the morning and the morning that news broke, we legitimately just happened to be there. We have that moment on camera."

She went on, "And I know sometimes it's tough for the audience to kind of grasp like 'Oh, did they go back and did they capture this?' But there were so many moments that we genuinely captured just because we're almost always there. There's almost always a camera going."

With filming of Tristan's statement unplanned, King added, "Our story goes in a completely different direction sometimes. We might be going there to shoot one thing, and then I'm usually like 'Oh OK, I didn't see this coming but here we go.'"

Back in January, Tristan confirmed that he'd fathered a child with Texas trainer Maralee Nichols, following a fairly public paternity dispute after baby Theo's birth in December. Tristan made the statement via a lengthy post on his Instagram Stories, in which he also issued an apology to Khloé.
