Kanye West is not happy about his Forbes net worth estimate

Kanye West is officially a billionaire, but he’s not ready to celebrate. Instead, the 42-year-old is criticizing Forbes, the magazine that recently estimated his net worth at approximately $1.3 billion. West, who criticized Forbes in 2019 for previously failing to acknowledge his billionaire status, wasn’t happy with the result. “It’s $3.3 billion since no one at Forbes knows how to count,” the text read, according to Forbes. Forbes wrote that “given the illiquidity” of West’s assets, he received a “50 percent haircut” in the publication’s final count. But the publication also acknowledged that West’s claims of a higher net worth are not uncommon among certain celebrities. In particular, the magazine compared him to Donald Trump, who has consistently protested his Forbes listings over the years. “For years, Forbes had an informal ‘Trump rule’ — take whatever the future president insisted he was worth, divide by three, and start honing from there,” Forbes wrote. “Welcome to the ten-digit club, Kanye. You may not like our number, but you’ve joined the highest company in that regard"
