If you’ve ever wanted to get your hands on a Yeezy piece designed by Kanye West, next year might be your chance. On June 26th, West and global fashion brand Gap announced a Yeezy Gap partnership that is set to debut in Gap stores and on Gap.com in 2021.

On the morning of the 26th, West used the hashtag #WESTDAYEVER and tweeted out an apparent logo for the new line to his 29.2 million followers. With over 21,000 retweets and 83,000 likes at the time of this publication, the news unsurprisingly made a splash amongst both West fans and fashion lovers alike.

According to Businesswire, this partnership is a true full-circle moment for both parties as West worked at a Gap store in Chicago as a teen. In the release, Mark Breitbard, the Global Head of Gap Brand, said, “We are excited to welcome Kanye back to the Gap family as a creative visionary, building on the aesthetic and success of his YEEZY brand and together defining a next-level retail partnership.”

Another full-circle moment? In a 2015 interview with The Cut, West seemed to have foreseen this collaboration when he said “One of my dreams was to be the head creative director of the Gap. I’d like to be the Steve Jobs of the Gap … [I want] full Hedi Slimane creative control of the Gap.” Gap Inc’s subsidiaries include Old Navy, Athleta, Banana Republic and more.

Fans will also be excited to hear that the Yeezy Gap pieces are expected to have much more affordable price tags than West’s typical Yeezy pieces that can retail for upwards of $1,000.

“Under West’s creative direction, the YEEZY design studio will develop the new line to deliver modern, elevated basics for men, women and kids at accessible price points, with the creative process just getting underway,” the release detailed.

Fashionista reminds shoppers that Yeezy Gap will, for the time being, just include clothing and shoe giant Adidas will continue to make sneakers under the Yeezy brand.
