Gene: The judge must not of read the statutes that govern Asylum. There is nothing in that statute that gives the judiciary the right to rewrite or defy the law. The President is the deciding authority on who comes into this country on asylum requests. There really isn't much room for interpretation. Congress has input/oversight on how many can come in, but the president is the one charged with enforcing and/or applying asylum law. Nothing in that statute that gives the judiciary the authority to change the law through a court order.
