Kanye West admits he was ‘hurt’ when Beyonce and Jay-Z missed his wedding to Kim Kardashian: 'I've got to state my truth'
Kanye West has admitted being “hurt” by the fact that Beyonce and good friend Jay-Z missed his wedding to Kim Kardashian.
The rapper opened up about his relationship with Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, in a two-hour interview with American radio presenter Charlamagne tha God.
Speaking about the 2014 nuptials, McKelvey brought up the fact that Carter said West “went too far” in talking about his family after he failed to show up at the ceremony.
West said: “It depends on how you look at it: if we're brothers, we are family.
“Then it's my family. If we're business associates then it was too far.”
The 40-year-old added: “Respectfully, I have to say I was hurt that they didn't come to the wedding.
“I understand they were going through some things, but if its family, you're not gonna miss a wedding.
“I'm not using my interview to put out any negative things, but I've got to state my truth.”
McKelvey went on to touch on speculation that the power couple missed West’s wedding to TV personality Kim Kardashian because of an issue with her.
West said: “I'm not sure. I'm past it, but at the time I was hurt about it.”
