Kim Kardashian completely shut down Kanye for saying her iconic Met Gala look was "too sexy"

At this point, Kim Kardashian West’s 2019 Met Gala look might be one of the most iconic outfits she’s ever worn. The flesh-colored, tightly corseted, Thierry Mugler dress was designed to make her appear she was dripping wet. Now, according to last night’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians, it turns out Kanye West was opposed to the look because he thought it was “too sexy” for his wife and the mother of his children.

Was Kim’s look camp, fitting the event’s theme? Meh, maybe not. Was it sexy? Hell yes. Was it *too* sexy? Ugh, Kanye, stop, no.

As we see in the episode, Kanye raises his concerns about Kim’s dress at the very last second, the night before they were headed to the Met Gala red carpet. And for the record, Kim said she had been planning the outfit for a year.

Kim spoke up for herself and for her right to wear whatever she pleases—because, hello, wives and mothers can still dress sexy if they feel like it.

“The night before, you’re going to come in here and say you’re not into the corset look? You’re giving me really bad anxiety,” she said. “I don’t need any more negative energy.”

Still, Kanye persisted, making it all about himself: “You are my wife and it affects me when pictures are too sexy,” he said.

Kim dropped truths back to her husband.

Clearly Kim’s (rightful) argument won out at the end because she wore that now-iconic, optical illusion dress despite her husband’s sexist protests. You do you, Kim.
