After four long years *gestures widely at the crumbling shambles of democracy*, I'm positively basking in the bliss of this historic day. Joe Biden is now president, Kamala Harris is the first female, South Asian, and Black vice president, and they're bringing with them the most diverse Cabinet to enter the White House.

Adding to the bubbling cup of joy I'm sipping on, Kamala Harris' niece Meena Harris and stepdaughter Ella Emhoff turned up on day one dripping in style. Together, they're serving us puff sleeves, ruffled cuffs, and some truly sickening boots–essentially, in the exact same outfit.

Though the dresses were nearly identical, Meena told her followers the twinning moment was completely by accident. "This wasn't planned but I'm very excited about it!!," she wrote. How you show up to one of the most important events in recent history and not shoot your cousin a "what you wearing?" text is beyond me, but at the same time, I am living for the outcome.

Turns out, they should have included First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and former First Lady Michelle Obama in the outfit group chat too. Not only did they twin with each other, but Meena and Ella also matched with the First Ladies–Meena in turquoise, like Jill, and Ella in the same rich raspberry tint as Michelle.

Michelle, Kamla, and now Ella, all donned some variation of the color purple, often intentionally worn to signify bipartisanship, with the blending of red and blue. Like the color white, purple is also representative of women's suffrage.

Today is a good day–both for the future of this country and for fashion.
