Cuoco knew right away that she wanted to get serious with Pelphrey, which for her meant becoming a mother. “This was not a goal of mine,” Cuoco told Emmy Magazine in May 2023. “As a young girl I dreamed of it, but I became involved in my career. Luckily, Johnny and I came out of it so brilliantly and we’re closer today than we ever were.”
After their breakup, Cuoco explained that she and Galecki were “so protective” of their romance because they didn’t want it to interfere with their work and vice versa. “It was a wonderful relationship but we never spoke a word about it and never went anywhere together,” she told CBS Watch! in 2010. “We knew how to keep it deep inside and never bring it on that set, ever.”
