Kaitlyn Bristowe Thinks Shawn Booth Is Holding onto "Anger" About Their Breakup
Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe says Shawn Booth is still holding onto "anger" about their split.
Sawn and Kaitlyn broke up in November 2018 and she's currently dating Jason Tartick.
Kaitlyn Bristowe and her Bachelorette fiancé Shawn Booth announce their split all the way back in November 2018, but things are still low-key dramatic. During Wednesday's Scrubbing In with Becca Tilley and Tanya Rad podcast, Kaitlyn talked at length about her relationship with Shawn, saying she didn't feel "safe."
"I pushed away a lot of friendships," she said (via People). "I didn't realize how miserable I was or how out of touch I was with myself and my confidence until — and I'm not trying to, obviously, blame Shawn ... but I felt a lot of shame from the show. I felt a lot of insecurities. I didn't feel safe in the relationship. I was constantly working on myself, constantly going to therapy to not feel those things."
Apparently, Kaitlyn hasn't run into Shawn since their breakup, but thinks he still holds onto a lot of "anger."
"I truly think he just will never understand me or respect certain decisions and I think he's just gonna hold onto anger with me," she said. "That's how I feel, so I would be nervous...I would play nice and even though he hurt me so terribly and things I've never even talked about, I hold anger too, but I know if I saw him I wouldn't be able to be like 'Meh,' that's just not me."
Kaitlyn also said she reached out to Shawn after the death of his dog, and never got a reply. "I did reach out to him and said like 'I am so sorry, if you need to talk. I'm devastated. I can't imagine how you feel.' And nothing," she said. "He didn't write me back. He wrote my cleaning lady back saying, 'Thank you, he loved spending time with you' and I'm like, 'Ah! Cleaning lady? Come on now!'"
Despite all this awkwardness, Kaitlyn has more than moved on and is now in a relationship with Jason Tartick—who she started dating just a few months after her split from Shawn.
