Kacey Musgraves’s Sequined Suit Is the Perfect Kick-Off to the Holiday Season
Kacey Musgraves is clearly all-in for Christmas. She’s already released a holiday album—revisit 2016’s A Very Kacey Christmas if you need a refresher—and she’s releasing a holiday variety show special on Amazon Prime Video, titled the Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show, at the end of this month. Musgraves’s special will center on the music, which runs the gamut from seasonal classics to selections from A Very Kacey Christmas (with some new songs thrown in for good measure). There will also be a number of special guests, including Lana Del Rey, Troye Sivan, and Musgraves’s very own grandmother.
Last night, Musgraves debuted a new song from the upcoming special, “Glittery,” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and she clearly took direct inspiration from the song name when it came time to pick out an outfit with the help of her stylist, Erica Cloud. Musgraves chose a sparkling green Christian Siriano suit for the occasion, a set that’s just as cheerful and bright as an actual Christmas tree, which is especially appropriate given the song’s lyrics: “You light me up like star light on a Christmas tree/Every single kiss is like a gift to me.” Musgraves in that festive suit is clearly a gift to us all.
