Justin Timberlake Is “Feeling Tense” in His First Public Appearance With Jessica Biel Post-PDA Scandal

Can you believe it’s already been two whole months since Justin Timberlake was caught holding hands with actress Alisha Wainwright? Er, me either. Understandably, those questionable PDA pictures sent the world into a tailspin and reportedly made Justin’s wife, Jessica Biel, incredibly upset. Since then, Justin made a public apology on Instagram for his actions and is now working on his relationship with Jessica, which brings us to the present.
Last night, Justin and Jessica made their first public appearance following Justin’s scandal for the premiere of The Sinner season 3. If I’m honest, Justin and Jessica look good!
But of course, there’s one major thing that needs to be addressed here, and that’s their body language. For the most part, Justin and Jessica seem like they’re doing juuuust fine, but body-language expert Blanca Cobb told Cosmo that there’s more to be seen.
“At first glance, Justin and Jessica look like they’re doing all right after his scandal with costar Alisha Wainwright. With their polite smiles, it looks like they’re just posing for a photo. A good sign is that their torsos are angled toward each other, which shows that they’re feeling connected,” Cobb said. “The sides of their bodies are fairly close, almost hinged, which is another indicator of their connectedness. But their hands tell a different story.”
Ah, yes—the hands. If you look a little bit closer, you can see that Justin’s hand looks EXACTLY like that one inescapable meme of Arthur with his hand balled up into a passive-aggressive fist.

As you can see, the similarity is startling. According to Cobb, Justin’s hand shows that he might not be feeling as relaxed as he should be. “Jessica’s hands are hidden from view and Justin’s right hand is semi–balled up. Hands tend to hang loosely by your side, not semi-fisted, which suggests that he’s feeling a little tense,” Cobb explained. “Considering that it’s their first public appearance since the scandal, it’s possible that they might be a little nervous about public scrutiny.”
The final clue to how Justin and Jessica are doing lies in the positioning of Jessica’s right foot. “It looks like she’s about to step out of her shoe, suggesting that she’s ready to move on. Perhaps, away from the camera and away from scrutiny,” Cobb said.
While you might be tempted to dwell on that last part, the good news here is that Justin and Jessica appear to be getting back on the right track—finally!
