Justin Bieber’s Protégée Is Embracing Her Stretch Marks

Madison Beer, the singer who rose to fame after Justin Bieber tweeted a video of her singing in 2012, isn’t just a pretty face and talented performer — she’s also an outspoken advocate for body positivity.

The 17-year-old recently shared a swimsuit selfie, her suit emblazoned with the phrase, “Sun’s out buns out,” to her popular Instagram channel, which boasts an impressive 7.4 million followers. She attached a healthy message alongside the image.

♡ PSA to all girls.. stretch marks r sexy. Whether u have a lot of stretch marks, none, or just a few. Love urself. just sayin,” read her caption.

The image garnered almost 400,000 likes, and many of her followers left positive comments on the photo. “I have stretch marks and this just made me so happy,” Cayley Shoemaker commented.another user, Andreas, noted, “I saw a picture of you today and some of your comments below it. You instantly became my hero and an inspiration to my daughters.”

The photo follows a recent Instagram post uploaded by Beer’s boyfriend, popular YouTube star Jack Gilinsky, 20, which encountered harsh words from users commenting on her stretch marks. Gilinsky later disabled the comments on the image.

On the day the image was uploaded, Beer took to her Twitter to respond.

When one user tweeted, “I hate stretch marks — they make me feel ugly,” Beer replied, “We all have them! Stop that. They’re beautiful and natural.”

Another fan tweeted her, “I want your body so bad,” to which she replied, “and I can write a list of bodies I want BUT I accept what I have because it’s mine Love YOURSELF, baby, no one does you better than you.”
