Justin Bieber has discovered the elusive slouch. The baggy fits don't drown their wearer in denim. Massive blazers and tent-like slacks that still seem to hit. He's into Crocs – a supersized shoe. He even designed his own and covered them in gems. Leather cut-off trousers were once a thing for the beach. Fleecey jogging shorts worn over jeans on stage in the early 2010s. Massive fur coats in the LA heat. You get it.

But he bends the rules even with his workout gear (if you can even call it that). On May 3, the Internet lost it after Bieber went for apparent jog down the middle of a Los Angeles road in… denim. Thick denim. Slouchy denim! The type that really isn't made for the gym. His footwear might've been a bit more appropriate – New Balance sneakers – while up top he wore a vest and hoodie. But jeans? Not sweat-wicking. Not comfortable. Hot! It's foolishness on par with those bonkers big red boots that MSCHF put out this year.

It was a reminder of the time when Scott Eastwood, the actor son of the very famous Clint, went for a run in the LA heat in a pair of rinse-wash jeans, held up with a chunky Western belt…. And no shoes. Or Miley Cyrus, who once went for a run with her personal trainer in a pair of Daisy Dukes. Zac Efron, too, has been known to go for a sprint in denim cut-offs. It's LA, baby!

But this is Justin Bieber, and he's built a career on wildly successful music and very slouchy clothes that sit on the right side of fashion's weird. Think about all those big fits, and a jog in massive denim isn't really that surprising at all.
