Well, well, well. Here we are at season freakin' four of the Masked Singer and I'm still trying to figure out how we've all dealt with more than F-O-R-T-Y (*sobs*) episodes full of of so-called "celebrities" performing on television whilst disguised as animals and personified objects. Clearly a good amount of you—fine, sigh, me too—are deriving some sort of pleasure from this weird-as-hell show 'cause there is literally no other way to explain its staying power. I'm not saying it should, uh, necessarily, stop, but I'm just ashamed that this is where our interests have led us to. We're better than this, people!!
Moving on: Although we're still at the beginning-ish part of the season, we've already found out the real identities of the Dragon, the Gremlin, and the Giraffe, and now we need to study up on the Serpent. So go on, my lil Nancy Drew, and do your sleuthing. Here's all the evidence you need to conjure up some educated guesses. (And here's to hoping Fox hires one of us to be a judge next season).
The Clue Package(s)
Honestly, I was pretty content with the information provided in the Serpent's clue video. Even though it didn't reveal a whole lot, a few of the details were quite insightful. Let me hit you with the key notes:
The mention of medicine and musicology
They said they were known for their trouble-making antics
They talked about their dad a lot (aka "Serpent Sr.") and how he was a big part of their life
These clues could defff narrow down the list. I have full confidence that we can crack the code from here, my friends.
The person tucked inside this petrifying snake suit put it all out on the table with the cult-favorite bop, "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by The Proclaimers. Even though the below clip only gives you a few seconds of the performance, I'm telling ya, your jaw is about to drop at how phenomenal they sound. Prepare to be shooketh.

Judge Ken Jeong is confident that the Hamilton star is The One™️. He made this claim due to the fact that in the beginning of the clue package, there was a book titled "How to Dig Yourself Out of Debt." And, of course, it's obvious that the Serp has a professionally-trained voice. Maybe this could be the Broadway-meets-reality-TV-moment I've been waiting for?!

Fans rallied behind this theory and I guess it's not *too* outlandish. Their evidence could use some more substantiating, but check out the hypotheses so far:
The serpent on Masked Singer is Jamie Foxx. That's my guess and I want it on record in case I'm correct.
Reason being, this person singing sounds exactly like Jamie Foxx when he did a John Legend impression on Jimmy Fallon.

Here are my guesses for this week's (9/30) The Masked Singer.
Serpent - Jamie Foxx...I felt the soul. Maybe?

Is it just me, or does the serpent sound like Jamie Foxx?🤔 #TheMaskedSinger

Leslie Odom Jr.

This guess definitely adds up. The library-esque vibes in the first shot of the clue video could be a reference to Hamilton. Also, a Caribbean map flashed for a hot sec and Odom Jr.'s Hamilton character, Aaron Burr, was an immigrant who hailed from the Caribbean. The whole "Sr." symbolism perfectly ties in with his name, which literally has "Jr." in it.
Fans are totally in favor of Leslie being the Serpent:
maybe it's my obsession with hamilton but I feel like Serpent on The Masked Singer is Leslie Odom Jr.

Sorry Jenny, but you are just dreaming way too big, girl. No offense to our pal Serp, but their singing skills don't even come close to the heavenly sound of John Legend's perfect vocal chords. Thank you, but, NEXT.
We'll be sure to update this as the internet uncovers more celeb guesses. See you then!!
