Julianne Hough gave her take on the “ugly” sandals trend in an unexpected pair of shoes this weekend.
Heading out for lunch in Los Angeles on Saturday, the former “Dancing With the Stars” judge opted for a graphic moto-style gray t-shirt tucked into light wash denim cutoff shorts. She completed the look with oversize sunglasses and a quilted black Chanel bag.
The professional dancer then looped in a surprising pair of sandals to top off the off-duty ensemble. Hough’s black strappy shoes come from none other than Teva, in the brand’s Hurricane Drift silhouette. Made with vegan, plant-based materials, the sustainable outdoor style utilizes injected EVA foam to create a lightweight and comfortable fit. The water-resistant design makes these sandals perfect for adventures with a nearly indestructible finish and flexible, textured outsole. Similar colorways to Hough’s sandal of choice retail for just $40 at Teva.com.
Considered traditionally “ugly” in the fashion world, Holmes joined the expansive list of celebrities (such as Heidi Klum, Kendall Jenner and Chris Pine) switching out their sleek heels for orthopedic-looking or sport-leaning sandals like iterations from Birkenstock, Prada and, of course, Teva.
As for Hough herself, the “Safe Haven” actress typically prefers more athletically-inclined apparel for everyday wear. She joined forces with the Fit On app this year to provide on-the-go workout classes in partnership with her Kinrgy fitness program, giving her millions of followers a preview of the workouts on Instagram. Her workout-chic looks include everything from matching green leggings sets with metallic sneakers to yoga-ready blush pink combinations, perfect for taking on yoga poses.
When she isn’t in leggings or sneakers, you can find Julianne Hough in designer duds from the likes of Georges Chakra, Stella McCartney and Madga Butrym amongst others. She also serves as an ambassador for MPG Sports and FitBit, continuing her active lifestyle.
