Usually it takes a call from a late-night TV show before a young superstar athlete goes undercover to interview unsuspecting fans.

JuJu Smith-Schuster wasn’t waiting around for anyone to have fun with his newfound celebrity status.

The Steelers’ wideout has his own YouTube channel and recently took to the streets of Pittsburgh in disguise to ask fans about himself. The results are extremely satisfying.

After holding his own during some hockey talk with his first interviewee, Smith-Schuster finds a few Pittsburgh fans in from out-of town for that week’s game and gets them to talk about the rookie receiver.

It’s a pretty comical clip — especially as Smith-Schuster brings up the Burfict hit and refers to himself as “young and dumb” to oblivious passersby — but you can’t fool them all.

The best parts of the videos are the fans who instantly recognize Smith-Schuster despite the costume and immediately light up.

These types of pranks might fool New York fans who aren’t as familiar with Yankees and Mets players, but you’re not going to sneak much past Steelers die-hards.

Smith-Schuster has a bunch of these types of videos on his YouTube page and they’re all worth checking out. More are apparently on the way, so stay tuned.
