Ever since the release of Olivia Rodrigo's breakout single, "Drivers License," in January, Joshua Bassett has been at the center of a love triangle. Fans everywhere have theorized and discussed the relationships between Olivia, Josh, and Sabrina Carpenter, trying to fully suss out what happened that could have prompted Olivia's song. Well, five months later, Joshua is finally speaking up about it.

In an interview with GQ, Joshua said, "people don't know anything they're talking about," when it comes to the situation. He admitted that "the hardest thing" has been keeping quiet about the rumors.

"The reality is it’s kind of like a lost cause trying to talk about any of that stuff, and I refuse to feed into any of the bullsh*t, so I just don’t," Joshua said. While he has supported Olivia's career on social media over the past few months, he hasn't officially confirmed or denied that "Drivers License" —and other songs off Olivia's debut album Sour—is about him. In fact, Joshua made the decision to not include a duet with Sabrina on his recent EP. "I didn’t want my EP to be overshadowed by some other narrative that people were trying to make," he previously told Billboard about the decision.

"[Everyone] is asking me about Sabrina and Olivia," Joshua said to GQ. "Why don't we focus on these women for who they are? Let's focus on the art that they're making and how great they are instead of their relationship to a boy." Preach!
