Josh is searching for the perfect 2-bedroom apartment as he makes the move from New Jersey to the city
On this episode of In The Know: Find My Dream Room, host Will Taylor (@brightbazaar) helps Josh find a New York City apartment for himself and a roommate. Josh is on the hunt for a Queens or Brooklyn two-bedroom unit with a dishwasher, and ideally, a washer-dryer, for up to $4,000 a month. Can Will help Josh find the apartment of his dreams? Let’s find out!
Apartment number one, which Will calls “The Lux Two-Bed,” is a two-bedroom unit in Brooklyn with a monthly rent of $4,200. Although it’s slightly over Josh’s budget, Josh is impressed by the amenities it offers, including a dishwasher, in-unit washer-dryer, and elevator in the building. The light-flooded apartment even comes with a small private deck which boasts beautiful views of the city.
Next up, Will shows Josh “The Corner,” a two-bedroom unit in Brooklyn that rents for $4,000 a month. This apartment is slightly smaller than the first, and doesn’t have a dishwasher or washer-dryer. However, the apartment has great light, ample living room space, and even a backyard patio. Josh particularly likes that the main bedroom comes with a loft storage space, and is pleased that the apartment is within his budget.
Finally, Will brings Josh to “The Amenity Option,” a $3,800 a month two-bedroom apartment in Queens. Josh is immediately impressed by the third unit, which comes with a dishwasher and washer-dryer in the apartment, as well as a gym, roof deck, and business lounge in the building. The apartment boasts sparkling, brand new appliances, and even features a bedroom with a Murphy bed. While the apartment is only on the second floor and doesn’t get as much light as the first two, Josh loves that it is under budget and comes with amazing amenities!
Four weeks later, Josh reveals that he and his roommate chose “The Amenity Option.” He notes that the price was right, and the many amenities the apartment offered won him over. Josh thanks Will for his apartment-hunting help, and notes that Queens is really growing on him!
