Jonathan Van Ness Posted a PSA About Wearing Sunscreen in the Winter

One of the biggest skin-care blunders that many of us mortals make in the winter is skipping sunscreen, but it seems that Jonathan Van Ness is not one of them. In fact, the beloved Queer Eye star took to social media this weekend to remind folks just how important it is to wear SPF in the wintertime — and he shared his current favorite sunscreen while he was at it.

It all went down on the grooming expert's Instagram Stories, starting with a video in which he's shown putting up his hair to prep for skin care. "Honey, she's topless, and I'm just dropping in with a quick reminder to wear your sunscreen even though it's winter," he says, before applying some toner. In the next clip, he continues: "I didn't feel like washing my face before going outside, but what I am gonna do before I go outside is put on sunscreen. Just because it's winter doesn't mean that the sun took its time off."

In the same clip, Van Ness reveals his go-to SPF: Biossance's Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen, which is a reef-safe, vegan sunscreen made with hydrating ingredients like glycerin and non-nano zinc oxide for broad-spectrum protection. For those who don't know, the actor started working with Biossance in 2019, so it makes sense that he's a huge fan of the brand's sunscreen.

We sincerely hope JVN's advice is enough to make you slap on your SPF year-round, because trust us, it really matters, folks.
