JoJo Siwa Puts Nickelodeon on Blast, Saying They Won't Let Her Perform Her Own Songs

JoJo Siwa is not here for anyone trying to control her music, including, apparently, Nickelodeon. The pop star and Dancing with the Stars contestant hopped on Twitter to put Nickelodeon on blast, saying "I go out on tour in January. My movie musical was just released (with 6 new original songs). Nickelodeon told me today that I’m not allowed to perform/add any of the songs from the film into my show. These are MY songs, MY voice, MY writing. Does this seem fair???”

She then added, "There is no reason that this music should not be included. Working for a company as a real human being treated as only a brand is fun until it’s not."

JoJo's upcoming tour (aka Nickelodeon’s JoJo Siwa D.R.E.A.M. The Tour) starts on January 13, 2022, and apparently JoJo is expected to perform music from 2018′s D.R.E.A.M. The Music and 2019′s Celebrate. Her musical film The J Team was just released on Paramount+, and it's unclear why Nickelodeon (who produced The J Team) wouldn't be down with her performing songs from it—especially since it seems like a pretty obvious way to promote the movie and get more streams!

As of now Nickelodeon hasn't responded to JoJo's tweets, and JoJo hasn't given anymore information about the situation. But fans are being super supportive so here's to hoping JoJo will get to perform her music!
