Jared Johnson explains why fantasy managers have to be happy with what they've seen from Hornets' Gordon Hayward.
JARED JOHNSON: While LaMelo Ball has garnered most of the headlines coming out of Charlotte this season, Gordon Hayward has been their most consistent player, and he's arguably the main reason why they've gone from a bottom-dwelling team in the Eastern Conference to the number-6 seed this year. Hayward leads the team in scoring with 21 points per game, and he's been canning a career-high-tying two triples a night to go with 5.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest on 48.4% shooting from the field and 87% from the stripe, which has him ranked inside the top 25. He was regularly falling to round five on draft day, and he was insanely cheap in salary leagues. So congrats if you bought into the bounce-back narrative for the 30-year-old forward, because he's paying dividends this season.
