John Cena Will Appear Alongside Dua Lipa as Mermaids in 'Barbie'

Amidst all the reveals from Warner Bros. Discovery's panel at CinemaCon this year, the studio shared some interesting news regarding Greta Gerwig’s Barbie film. Building on the anticipation that came after the project's first trailer, the showcase offered exclusive footage that revealed John Cena's involvement in Barbie.

The footage shown revealed what appears to be a major conflict between all the Barbie and Ken variants living in Barbie Land. Included in the variants were Kate McKinnon's "Weird Barbie" and John Cena as a long-haired King Ocean merman Ken. The unique Ken played by the WWE superstar is expected to accompany Dua Lipa, who also plays a mermaid and performs the film's theme, a cover of Aqua's iconic "Barbie Girl."

Cena joins an already star-studded cast with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling leading the charge, supported by names like Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Simu Liu, Will Ferrell, and many more.

Greta Gerwig's Barbie is set to hit theaters July 21.
