Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's Dog Died After Being Hit By a Car

RIP Waldo. 💔

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner had to say a tragic and unexpected goodbye to their dog, Waldo Picasso.

TMZ reports that the couple’s Alaskan Klee Kai was killed when he was hit by a car on Wednesday, July 24 in New York City. According to Joe’s rep, Waldo was reportedly out for a stroll with his dog walker when he got “spooked,” broke from his leash, and ran out into the street. Joe’s rep described the tragedy as a “freak accident.”

While Joe and Sophie have yet to comment publicly about their loss, TMZ adds that the couple reportedly filed a police report on Friday after seeking therapy to cope with the death of their beloved dog.

Joe and Sophie brought Waldo home in April 2018, where he joined his older brother, Porky Basquiat, who recently served as one of Joe’s groomsmen in their second wedding ceremony in France.

On social media, fans are flocking to the stars’ accounts (as well as Waldo’s own Instagram page) to pay their respects. “My heart aches for you,” one Instagram user wrote, adding: “We also had a Klee Kai in NYC and the very same thing happened to us.” Another fan weighed in to say: “We have two Klee Kai pups in our family and know how special they are...my heart breaks for you all.”

Our thoughts go out to Sophie and Joe during this difficult time.
