Jodie Comer has once again addressed rumours her boyfriend is a Donald Trump supporter, after the actress was 'cancelled' by the allegations in the summer.

The Killing Eve actress went public with new boyfriend, Massachusetts lacrosse player James Burke, earlier this year, but was quickly hit by criticism due to to claims he was a Republican.

Jodie addressed the rumours for the first time last month, opening up to Porter Magazine about how she struggled with the negative speculation.

"All this false information came out about him, and people ridiculed him and me and my family," she explained. "People took these tweets as truth. That was the biggest time my life has been kind of blown up and publicised in that way."

She continued, "A lot of people read things and they go, 'Wow, she’s that, she’s this type of person'. And I’m like, OK, I can spend my life and my energy trying to convince people otherwise, or I can go, I know who I am, I know my truth and that’s good enough for me."

Now, in a new interview with InStyle, the 27-year-old has called the attention "shocking" and "absurd." she explained, "It was really shocking; it was the first time I had ever been dragged into something like that. And it wasn’t just me; it was my family.

"I had seen the absurdity of what I was being accused of, and what my partner was being accused of. I decided for my own health that I was not going to try and convince these people otherwise. I just wasn’t going to do it. The biggest lesson for me this year was: I know who I am."

The actress also revealed she and James, 26, were currently in a long distance relationship due to lockdown restrictions. "I couldn’t fly to the States. And I still can’t. It was one of those things. I feel like, with anything, if you want something enough, you can make it work. So, yeah, just millions of FaceTimes."

In April of this year, in an interview with Vogue, Comer confirmed she was in a new relationship, but didn't specify who her partner was. She said; "I’m very much in it... I think love’s the best."
