Joanna Gaines flooded with anti-vaccination comments after sharing photo of baby Crew at the doctor's office

Well, that escalated quickly.

Fixer Upper star Joanna Gaines treated fans to a sweet photo of husband Chip Gaines lovingly gazing at their 2-month-old son, Crew, during a trip to the doctor’s office.

And while the proud mom of five doesn’t mention shots or immunizations or anything beyond Crew getting a weigh-in, as is routine for babies, her post prompted some followers to express concern that the little guy might be getting vaccinated.

“Don’t vaccinate your baby!” urged one commenter.

“Vaccines are dangerous and if people love their kids they won’t inject them with these poisons!” added another follower.

Yet another Fixer Upper fan urged Gaines to “look into the truth about vaccinations,” claiming that they were responsible for “asthma, allergies, SIDS death, eczema, and autism.”

Though Gaines has yet to address the anti-vaccination comments or publicly state any position about immunizing her children, other fans were quick to come to her defense.

“It’s no one’s business what their thoughts are on vaccines,” read one comment. “She is posting an adorable picture of Chip and the baby, saying only ‘weigh-in day.’ Thank you, Jo, for sharing and posting this beautiful picture.”

“She didn’t even mention vaccinations,” a fan agreed. “She said ‘weigh-in day at the doctor.’ Many infant appointments are just weigh-ins and general health checks. Vaccinations aren’t given at every appointment so idk why people are pushing anti-vaccination [comments] on this post. They need to stay on topic… and you’re right, it’s just a cute picture of dad and baby. The moment is so perfect it looks like a professional picture!”

Gaines’s precious family pic has turned into a heated vaccination debate, and it’s not the first time her baby posts have faced scrutiny. When she shared a photo of Crew’s ultrasound in January, the HGTV star was flooded with comments expressing concern that her baby might have a serious condition called hydrops fetalis.

Maybe it’s time to mute those comments?
