Jimmel Kimmel's Studio Audience Shows Off Wacky NYFW Looks

“I always wonder if a regular person would ever wear any of this stuff,” Jimmy Kimmel asked about the clothes that came down the runway at New York Fashion Week. You and me both, Jimmy. Thankfully, he put this to the test. The talk show host called on his wardrobe department to duplicate outfits from high-end designers and invited some lucky members of the studio audience to model them on camera.

Russ, a University professor from Irivine, Calif., gamely wore a pair of patchwork denim jeans without a shirt. He was so into the look — possibly giving him flashbacks to his partying days a few decades ago — that he even danced. Jennifer showed up to the taping in a black swing dress with flowers on it and red sandals, which could’ve been seen on a street styler. Midway through, she changed into a leather poncho from Nicholas K.. Nicole from Dallas, Texa,s was paired with David Ferrera and sashayed down the stage in a yellow and black dress inspired by Big Bird from Sesame Street. As for Guillermo, Kimmel’s sidekick, he got to wear a fancy white bib from Moses Gauntlett Cheng.

Last year during the Spring 2015 shows (so that’s September 2014 for those of you who don’t speak fashion…yet), the comedian also took on NYFW and asked show attendees and self-proclaimed fashion aficionados outside of Lincoln Center about designers, trends and events that did not actually exist, which didn’t stop them from pulling something out of their back pocket. Asked about “Chandler Bing,” a character from Friends, the stars and stripes on the runway at ’Betsy Ross,” the robes at “Anton Scalia,” and even made up the fact that Heidi Klum faceplanted at Alexander Wang. Now that’s a lie no one should believe.
