JFK's Grandson Jack Kennedy Schlossberg Graduates With a Dual Degree from Harvard

Jack Kennedy Schlossberg is trying to make his own way in the world—but that doesn't mean he isn't following in the footsteps of his famous family. In a series of photos he posted to his Instagram this weekend, Jack celebrated his graduation from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School.

In the first photo, Schlossberg poses with cupcakes decorated with Harvard insignia. He wears a shirt embroidered with "JDMBALFG"—likely a reference to his dual J.D. and M.B.A. degrees, and the phrase "LFG," or "Let's F*cking Go!"—the same acronym he used to caption his post. In the second, Schlossberg is masked up in Langdell Library, the Harvard Law School Library, and in the third, a Happy Graduation banner is hung up on a bookshelf filled with history books.

Schlossberg, 29, is the son of Ambassador Caroline Kennedy and designer Edwin Schlossberg. He has two older sisters: Rose, 33, and and Tatiana, 31.

Schlossberg, notably, is the only grandson of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy. JFK graduated from Harvard undergraduate in 1940, and Schlossberg's mother, Catherine Kennedy, graduated in 1980. In JFK's admissions essay, he wrote about his father's attendance at Harvard, explaining, "to be a 'Harvard man' is an enviable distinction, and one that I sincerely hope I shall attain."

Schlossberg didn't follow his mother and grandfather to Harvard for undergrad, instead choosing to attend Yale University, where graduated in 2015 with a degree in history, focusing on Japanese history. Caroline Kennedy served as the U.S. Ambassador to Japan from 2013 to 2017; Schlossberg lived with her after he graduated, studying Japanese and working at the Suntory distillery company. He entered Harvard Law in fall 2017, and Harvard Business School in fall 2018. The dual degree program is typically completed in four academic years, so a graduation in January 2022 means he likely took a semester off at one point. (In spring 2018, he made his acting debut on "Blue Bloods.")

A decade ago, he told CNN he was interested in following his family into politics, explaining in 2012: "Politics definitely interests me. I’m most interested in public service. I think that’s something that I got from being part of my family, which is such an honor. I haven’t even picked what classes I’m taking this semester yet, so I’m not thinking about a political career right now."

Now that he's finished with school, all eyes are on Schlossberg to see what he does next.
