Jesse Melamed Makes His Filmers Work Harder Than He Rides

Jesse Melamed is a fast man, perhaps one of the fastest in the world on a mountain bike, and if you want to film him, you have to be fast in your own right too.

Filming mountain biking has become a full production effort. Some of the high quality videos you see come out these days more closely resemble a high budget Hollywood set than what you would expect for a mountain bike video.

Filming has certainly come a long way since its humble roots of dirtbags with dad-cam style video recorders in the early 2000's.

Yet, despite the advancements in video production quality in the sport, there has been a strong push to return to the homemade "skate style" videos as the purest form of filming.

I personally think there is a place for both and that balance leads to better quality riding and filming on both ends of the spectrum.
