'Jeopardy!’ Star Amy Schneider Dedicates Emotional Post to Her Wife After 2022 ToC Win

Amy Schneider proved once again that she is, in fact, a champion.

On Monday, the Oakland, California-based writer emerged victorious during Jeopardy!'s 2022 Tournament of Champions, beating out contestants Andrew He and Sam Buttrey to win the $250,000 grand prize. According to a report from Variety, Amy also made history on the quiz show for being the first openly transgender contestant to not only qualify for the event, but also win it all.

"Two words: AMY SCHNEIDER 👑," the show's official Twitter account posted soon after.

Without missing a beat, Jeopardy! fans immediately started celebrating the trivia genius when host Ken Jennings declared her the winner. Many took to social media to share how thrilled they were to see the beloved contestant shine on-air.

"Congratulations Amy! This was an exciting tournament and you and your 2 competitors were so gracious and lovely to watch. Bravo to everyone involved 👏👏👏,” one person wrote on Instagram. "Congrats Amy!!! Absolutely my favorite Jeopardy player of all time. ❤️," another follower commented. "WOOHOO!! My favorite Jeopardy champ EVER!" a different fan said.

But Jeopardy! viewers weren't the only ones sharing in Amy's journey on the quiz show. Shortly after the episode aired, the newly-crowned winner took to social media to thank her wife Genevieve Davis for her support.

"I owe so much to so many people today," Amy wrote on Instagram. "But above all, I can’t find enough ways to say how lucky I am that the most amazing woman in the world has chosen to spend her life with me. I love you, Genevieve, and I could never, ever have done this without you."

As folks may remember, she first appeared on Jeopardy! in November 2021, and proceeded to set an incredible 40-game streak. Although her initial run ended on January 27, folks can agree that being away from the game didn't diminish her trivia chops.
