‘Jeopardy!’ Host Alex Trebek’s Memoir Is Hitting Shelves This Summer
For more than three decades, Alex Trebek has been bringing entertainment into the homes of millions of Jeopardy! viewers. This summer, the beloved host will give fans a window into his personal with his upcoming memoir, The Answer Is...: Reflections on My Life.
Last year, Trebek shared the devastating news that he had been diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. Fans (and a Jeopardy! contestant) responded to his announcement and updates with kind words of encouragement and support. “I want people to know a little more about the person they have been cheering on for the past year,” Trebek writes in his memoir, according to the publisher, Simon & Schuster.
Inspired by Jeopardy!, the book's chapter titles will appear in the form of questions. The memoir will include personal anecdotes and Trebek's views on a wide range of topics, including marriage, parenthood, education, success, and spirituality. Trebek will also answer some of the questions fans have asked him the most, like why he shaved his signature mustache and what he thinks of Will Ferrell’s Saturday Night Live impersonation of him. The book will feature never-before-seen candid photos of Trebek through the years.
“This wise, charming and inspiring book is further evidence why [Trebek] has long been considered one of the most beloved and respected figures in entertainment,” Executive Editor at Simon & Schuster Sean Manning said in a press release.
The Answer Is...: Reflections on My Life will be published on July 21, a day before Trebek turns 80 years old.
