For many, Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, barbecue season, and the right to wear white on-demand. But for Jenny Marrs, it's a moment to reflect and show gratitude. HGTV's Fixer to Fabulous star recently took to Instagram to recall the summer 2010, when she was rushed to the hospital and was on the brink of giving birth to her twin sons early.

"The doctors gave us the best-and-worst case scenarios (and both were soul-crushing) as I was rushed off the helicopter in Little Rock and wheeled under the fluorescent lights of the hospital hallway toward the ICU," she wrote. "The boys threatened to arrive in this world way too early and the chances of both of them being healthy were bleak." Fortunately, Marrs was able to receive a special steroid to help her babies' lungs grow and eventually gave birth to two healthy boys, Ben and Nathan.

While this traumatic time is thankfully in the rearview mirror—the boys turn 13 years-old this year—her post serves as a special reminder that gratitude doesn't have an expiration date.

The Fixer to Fabulous is no stranger to getting vulnerable on her feed—and fans once again rushed to support her experience. One wrote: "If you ever decide to write a book of daily devotionals, where you simply share your stories and your reflections about God and His goodness, please save a copy for me." Another commented, "You seem to always grasp my heart strings with your beautiful shares." A third kept it simple by posting, "This story was so encouraging to read." In fact, many followers opened up about their own pregnancy experiences.

Through all the parenting highs and lows (yes, including that terrifying trip to the hospital), Marrs never lost her faith. She wrote: "The Lord tells us to gather stones of remembrance—markers of His faithfulness from the past—so that when we encounter times of trouble, or doubt or fear, we can look to our stones and remember."
