Jennifer Lopez’s 2020 Golden Globes Dress Is Just…Wow

It should comes as a surprise to absolutely zero people that Jennifer Lopez would arrive on the Golden Globes red carpet—her first major appearance of 2020—and start a conversation. After all, this is the woman whose Versace dress at the 2000 Grammys led to the creation of Google's image search.

In the 20 years since, she has continued to make a major statement every time she steps out for an event, walks a runway, or takes the stage at Saturday Night Live. And she's a Best Supporting Actress nominee for her role as Ramona in Hustlers, so you knew she wasn't going to go subtle.

Lopez arrived in a green, gold, and white Valentino Couture dress adorned with a giant bow and her hair in a large bun made of multiple braids.

Of course, she also brought along fiancé (and #1 Instagram boyfriend) Alex Rodriguez. "Heading to the @goldenglobes. Such an exciting night ahead. Good luck to @jlo and congrats to all of the nominees tonight for their amazing performances!," he tweeted with a shot of them in the car.

As with all things J.Lo fashion, the internet had thoughts with many comparing her to the gift that she is—though not everyone was totally sold on the look. "Jennifer Lopez wishes us all a very Merry Christmas. #GoldenGlobes," one person tweeted. "ONLY @JLo can pull off anything ever. She can do NO wrong! ✨🤩," another wrote. "Look @JLo is a goddess and I am a slob 😂 but this may the only gown of hers I haven’t been crazy about. She makes up for it with that emerald necklace tho 🤤 #goldenglobes2020," one Twitter user said.

J.Lo's glam team gave us a behind-the-scenes look at her hair and makeup (and jewelry). Hairstylist Chris Appleton wrote, "Getting @jlo ready Thanks to @dysonhair @colorwowhair #dysonhair #dysonprohair" and also showed the final look.

"Golden Globes READYYY ⚡@jlo @arod @goldenglobes 💎 Featuring all my new makeup palettes. 😍😍😍," makeup artist Scott Barnes wrote alongside a photo of the star's stunning smoky eye and serious lashes.

Good luck to J.Lo and her bow tonight!
