Jennifer Lopez Tells Oprah She's in No "Rush" to Marry Alex Rodriguez
Jennifer Lopez just opened up about her engagement to Alex Rodriguez.
The Hustlers star told Oprah Winfrey at the 2020 Vision: Your Life In Focus Tour that she's in no "rush" to walk down the aisle.
J.Lo explained, "We're really going to try to build something together that we both never had or both never felt like we had."
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez got engaged in March 2019, having started dating in 2017. But according to the singer, they're in no rush to tie the knot just yet.
Joining Oprah Winfrey onstage at the mogul's 2020 Vision: Your Life In Focus Tour, J.Lo revealed, "It's so funny because when we first got engaged I was like, 'Oooh, we're gonna get married in a couple months?!'" She continued, "Your old thinking comes right back, all that hopeless romantic [stuff] that made me get married three times."
However, Lopez and Rodriguez decided together that they didn't need to rush the wedding planning. The superstar told Oprah, "He's like, 'Whatever you want to do, we can talk about it.' I said, 'But if we're going to be together for the rest of our lives, what is the rush?'"
Instead, J.Lo and A-Rod are committed to building a strong family unit together. Per Lopez, "We're really going to try to build something together that we both never had or both never felt like we had—which was a family with a husband and a wife, and a mother and a father—and we embrace all of our children and we show them something that we didn't have."
