Jennifer Lopez stars alongside Paloma Elsesser, Michael B. Jordan, and Diana Gordon in the new Coach x Basquiat fashion campaign.
The Bronx-born pop star poses alongside a curated selection of creatives who help bring artist Jean-Michel Basquiat's legacy to life for the collection.
Jennifer Lopez and a slew of famous faces are helping to continue the legacy of the late New York artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat, along with legacy fashion brand, Coach.
For the new Micaiah Carter-shot campaign, fellow style icons including model Paloma Elssesser, actor Michael B. Jordan, musician Diana Gordon, and Basquiat's own niece, Jessica Kelly, join Lopez in striking a pose in the latest collection. The unisex offerings include cozy sweatshirts, classic trench coats, structured leather bags, and more, all adorned with Basquiat's signature abstract artistic renderings. The full collection, which debuted on the runway in February with Coach's Fall 2020 fare, is meant to evoke Basquiat's beliefs in showcasing a "vision of bold expression," "activism through art," and embracing one's chosen creative family.
"Basquiat is one of my heroes. He embodied the creative, inclusive spirit of New York and was a force for change in his community," said Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers in a statement. "I am proud to celebrate his work and values and help bring them to a new generation. I’m also incredibly grateful for the support and trust given to me by Basquiat’s family, and would like to thank them for their help in creating this collection and campaign."
