Jennifer Lopez Steps Out in the Ultimate Statement Belt
It’s safe to say that Jennifer Lopez has been enjoying a bumper year, largely thanks to her show-stopping performance as a charismatic stripper in Hustlers. The singer and actress has already been nominated for a Golden Globe, and is hotly tipped to receive an Oscar nod, too. But it isn’t just her career that’s been flourishing. Lopez has also been more than happy to remind us of her status as a fully paid-up fashion icon: most notably with her walk down the Versace runway in September sporting an updated version of the iconic gown she wore to the 2000 Grammy Awards, which received a standing ovation.
And even far from the red carpet, Lopez has been upping her style game, regularly stepping out in her signature sleek riffs on early-aughts fashion accompanied with plenty of eye-catching accessories: think gold hoops and oversized, mirrored sunglasses aplenty. (Also, who could forget her other accessory of choice: a bedazzled Starbucks cup decked out in Swarovski crystals.)
Just yesterday, she was spotted in Los Angeles property hunting with fiancé Alex Rodriguez wearing a chic, all-black look consisting of a turtleneck sweater, leather trousers, and a duster coat. This time, however, it wasn’t the gold hoops that were the standout accessory: instead it was the classic Chanel belt she wore around her waist, with the house’s double-C emblem serving as a gold buckle. Even if her off-duty looks these days are supremely sophisticated, you can always rely on Lopez to give it a (however subtle) final touch of bling.
