Jennifer Lopez’s eclectic approach to fashion always keeps her fans on their toes. While her natural inclination is to go bold or go home, she has occasional minimalist moments, too. On 10 May, at the premiere of her new film The Mother – in which she plays a former assassin – Lopez took to the red carpet in a custom sequined look by Brunello Cucinelli, comprised of a bralette, maxi skirt and a floor-sweeping duster coat.

True to form, the star spiced up the ensemble with a sultry beauty look and her current favorite hairstyle (the sleek half pony), adding sculptural earrings by Fernando Jorge. She carried her personal effects in a silky clutch by Tyler Ellis that matched the shimmering embellishments of her coords.

Testament to her chameleonic approach to style, Lopez has worn a broad mix of looks – curated by her stylists, Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn – on the press trail for her new project. In the past month alone, she’s worn head-to-toe leopard-print Valentino, a ruffled skirt and clear platforms – which called to mind her Hustlers character, Ramona Vega – a pared-back grey ensemble by Michael Kors and green separates by Elie Saab. Meanwhile, at the Met Gala, J Lo took to the steps in a cut-out gown by Ralph Lauren. No one can predict her next fashion move.
