Jennifer Lopez’s New Haircut Brings Summertime Swagger to the Holiday Season

Each year, the switch of balmy, languid days for long nights and brisk winds elicits a parallel beauty adjustment. Brunette, in all of its iterations, abounds, as do crimson lips, dustings of blush for even rosier chill-kissed cheeks, and updos designed to weather any storm. But leave it to Jennifer Lopez to subvert any and all aesthetic expectations. Last night, hairstylist Chris Appleton took to Instagram to share a snap of J Lo's latest haircut: a shoulder-skimming bronde chop run through with baby blonde highlights that skewed more sand-strewn than winter-is-coming.

Along with the haircut—which Lopez debuted with a deep, finger-raked side part—makeup notes were also beacons of warmer weather: a healthy application of bronze coupled with copper lids, sky-reaching lashes, and a glossy pout that toed the line between pink and nude. But the appealing combination of Lopez's lightened lengths and her climbing turtleneck ensured that would-be summery notes do have their place even with a forecast of snow. Because, really, who says you have to choose?
