Jennifer Lopez and Emme Sang a Duet Together and Introduced Emme's New Pronouns

On Thursday June 16, Jennifer Lopez performed with her 14-year-old child Emme, calling them her “favorite duet partner.” The event was held at the Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, for the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala. The event raises money for education, health care, and homelessness issues in the city. Fans caught clips of their shared song, Christina Perri's “A Thousand Years” and shared it all over social media.
In the videos, Lopez is wearing high-waisted pants in bright green with a bra top, throwing a long feathered turquoise coat over the whole ensemble. Emme is wearing pink shorts and a matching shirt with a large baseball cap and black boots.
Lopez introduced Emme using they/them pronouns, and Emme walked onto the stage carrying a microphone emblazoned with a rainbow.
“The last time we performed together was in a big stadium like this and I ask them to sing with me all the time, and they won't,” said Lopez. “So this is a very special occasion. They are very, very busy. Booked. And pricey. They cost me when they come out. But they're worth every single penny because they're my favorite duet partner of all time. So if you will indulge me.”
Emme is a twin, with a brother named Max. J.Lo had her kids with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Emme performed with their mother at the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show, a topic of Lopez's new Netflix documentary Halftime. The title references not only her widely celebrated performance with Shakira, but the fact that Lopez is now in her early fifties and at another important moment in her life and career.
At the end of their song at Dodger Stadium, Lopez demanded of the audience, “Give it up for my baby.”
