Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have officially broken up—for good.
“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so,” the exes said in a statement to the Today show. “We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”
The former couple got together in 2017 and announced their engagement a few years later. Reports then surfaced in March that they’d broken up amid false rumors that A-Rod was having an affair with Madison LeCroy. J.Lo and A-Rod denied the split at the time, telling TMZ, “All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things.”
Meanwhile, Madison told Page Six, “He’s never physically cheated on his fiancée with me,” explaining she’s “talked to him randomly but not consistent” and it was “innocent.” She also said that she and A-Rod had “never met up” in person and had simply “spoken on the phone,” adding, “He’s never physically cheated on his fiancée with me.”
Over the weekend, J.Lo was spotted without her engagement ring, leading to speculation that she and A-Rod were officially done. Sad when celeb ’ships come to an end, but it’s great that these two are committed to remaining friends! 😭
