Jennifer Garner Sends Call-Out for Students to Share Their Performances Virtually

From Broadway's glimmering lights in New York City to Nashville, the show—sadly—will not go on. As the coronavirus pandemic continues to screech businesses, restaurants, events, museums, and beyond, to a halt, Jennifer Garner has a message to student performers, athletes, musicians, and the like: Show her what you've got.

"To the Elsas and Matildas; to the Willy Lomans and Romeos. Not to mention the flautists, the pianists, the gymnasts, the shot-putter. We want to SEE—show us what you’ve got!!" she captioned a recent Instagram post. Sharing a screenshot of a note she wrote, Garner expressed just how important this act is to her, "This time of year has so many people, from preschoolers to professionals, working their tailso off to perform. And now—the games, the meets, the recitals, the productions, big and small—are shut down. Well, the show must go on people!!!" she exclaims with her signature spirited optimism. "Break out your oboes, belt out your torch song, run in place—I don't care. Show us what you've been working on and we will show the world. Use #heyjenlookatme, because I want to see," she continued in the post which has since garnered 294,478 likes and counting in the two days since she posted it.

Broadway star Laura Benanti, whom Garner credits in her post, also shared a popular Twitter video—with 3.5 million views as of press time—urging young actors to share an online highlight reel:
