Friends fans may no longer flock to hair salons in search of the quintessential Rachel haircut (at least for now), but that doesn’t make Jennifer Aniston’s hair any less enviable. Her contemporary style is just as swoon-worthy as any—and her tresses look healthier than ever. So what’s the secret? In a new interview with Vogue, Aniston's longtime entrusted hair stylist Chris McMillan (yes, the one who invented the Rachel) told all.

Under McMillan’s guidance, Aniston uses an array of products to keep her hair looking its best. There’s shampoo and conditioner—two of her favorites are Living Proof No Frizz Shampoo and Canalé Soften Conditioner—but the real star of the show is a hair treatment, which she applies every Sunday.

“Aniston fits in a weekly deep conditioning treatment—typically the Living Proof Restore Repair Mask—while getting her nails done and watching 60 minutes,” McMillan told Vogue. According to the brand’s website, the mask is formulated with an emollient blend of oils to nourish dry hair while repairing damage and protecting from future breakage. It also helps hair stay cleaner, longer, extending the time between wash days.

Aniston apparently leaves hers on for about an hour, but the recommended application time is actually under 10 minutes. Either way, it leaves shinier, more hydrated hair behind after every use—even reviewers say so.

“My hair has NEVER been so soft and easily managed,” one buyer wrote on Living Proof’s website. “This doesn’t weigh down my hair but adds a great amount of moisture.” Others added that it “calms frizzy hair” and “left my hair feeling full.” So the mask isn’t just Aniston-approved.

As to not neglect the star’s scalp, McMillan usually follows the mask with a regular exfoliation using Drunk Elephant’s T.L.C. Happi Scalp Scrub.“We do it once a month,” he said, which helps eliminate buildup to encourage a healthy environment for hair growth, thanks to gentle acids in the formula.

Aside from her arsenal of professionally curated products, McMillan said the key to Aniston’s overall polished look is her consistency and commitment to self-care. “She’s consistent about trims, she’s consistent about getting highlights, she’s consistent about facials,” he said. “She takes care of herself.”
