Jennifer Aniston Says the Friends Cast Is ‘Working on Something’ Together

Friends fans, I have some good news and some bad news for you. The bad? According to Jennifer Aniston, a reboot of the show isn’t happening. The actor was asked point-blank on The Ellen Show this week if there are plans to revive the beloved series, and her answer was less than encouraging.

“A reboot of the show?” Aniston said. “No.”

But before you cry too hard, she did offer a silver lining: The Friends cast is working on something together. But that something hasn’t fully formed.

“We would love for there to be something,” Aniston said. “But we don’t know what that something is. So we’re just trying. We’re working on something.”

Seeing Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry together again would truly break the internet. And it really doesn’t matter what they do. I could see a Friends podcast hosted by the six actors. Maybe a behind-the-scenes documentary. Or a live reunion interview special. It has been 25 years since the show premiered, after all. Now is the time to do something big.

This isn’t the first time Aniston has said the cast would be keen on getting together again. “Listen, I told you this: I would do it. The girls would do it. And the boys would do it, I’m sure,” Aniston also told Ellen DeGeneres a few months back.

She said something similar to DeGeneres back in February 2018. “Anything is a possibility, Ellen,” Aniston noted. “Anything! Right?… I mean, George Clooney got married! That’s like anything can happen. I think it’s wonderful.”

Aniston ignited Friends fever earlier this month when, in her first Instagram post ever, she posted a photo of the cast all together at dinner. “And now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM,” she wrote in the caption.

Of that get-together, Aniston told Howard Stern, “We just laughed a lot. We all miss [Friends] every day. I would be nothing without it.”
