If your heart was only a little cracked over hearing that Jared Leto cut off his lovely long locks, well that ticker is about to completely crack upon seeing his new platinum blond ‘do. Showing up at Balmain’s Paris Fashion Week show, the actor looked more like Draco Malfoy transferred to a prep school from Hogwarts and dressed inappropriately for the sunny weather than his usual cool rocker self.

The Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman looks drastically different for his upcoming role as the Joker in Suicide Squad. While it was always known that he would drastically alter his appearance to get into character — he’s the most method actor out there, losing more than 30 pounds for Dallas Buyers Club and practically going nuts himself in Girl, Interrupted and American Psycho — becoming a bottle blonde was an unexpected twist in this week’s episode of Jared Leto’s Amazing Man Hair.

But despite the fact that we’ll miss the man bun, loose waves with dip dye, and perfect ponytails, this is a fun mix up for the 43-year-old. I was getting bored of his hair being so perfect anyways. Everyone has to make a mistake at some point. Right, Kim Kardashian?

Both Leto and Kardashian debuted their shocking new hairstyles in the same venue. Rumor on the rue is that Mrs. West was very unhappy that some of attention was taken away from her bright moment. According to Mickey Boardman, the Paper magazine editor that got Kardashian to take it all off to break the Internet, her reaction to seeing someone else looking just like her was, “Ugh.” The 34-year-old mom was probably most upset about the fact that their coincidental hair premieres would prompt many who wore it best type posts. So, we beg the question: Who looks best as a platinum blonde?
