Jane Fonda is, obviously, an icon.

Some would say Sydney Sweeney has become iconic in her own right as well.

You might know that Sydney's signed on to star in and executive produce a remake of Barbarella, the 1968 cult classic that Jane very iconically starred in.

As it turns out, Jane's not too hot on the idea of remaking Barbarella.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Jane admitted that she's not thrilled with the prospect of the remake itself — so much so that she tries not to think about it.

"I worry about what it’s going to be," she admitted while talking about why she feels that way.

Jane also said that she herself once pushed for a follow-up to Barbarella, but she wasn't able to get it made.

"I had an idea of how to do it that [original producer] Dino De Laurentiis, when he was still alive, wouldn’t listen to," she claimed. "But it could have been a truly feminist movie.”

Now, there's a chance we're all getting ahead of ourselves here. For one, Sydney's Barbarella remake currently has no writer or director attached — and sometimes, movies like this (specifically, reboots of existing IP) never actually end up getting made at all.

So, we'll just have to see what happens here — and, hey, who knows. Maybe Jane will be happy with the results after all.
