James Corden hints he may quit US talk show and return to the UK

James Corden has hinted that he might be thinking about quitting his US talk show and returning to the UK.

The Gavin And Stacey star is based across pond, where he is the host of The Late Late Show.

But according to The Sun, he has admitted he and his family are homesick for their loved ones back in England.

The actor and comedian, 42, said things had been “magnified” amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“Ending the show will always be a bigger family decision than a professional one,” the paper quoted Corden as saying.

“It will be about people at home who we miss very, very much, who we are homesick for.

“I also feel like my wife and I have three young children, and they are three young grandchildren that we’ve taken away from people.

“This probably feels particularly magnified now during the pandemic, but I have an overwhelming feeling that our family has walked to the beat of my drum for a very long time.”

The star said he had a couple of years left to go on his current contract.

Corden, who was born in Hillingdon in London, has been hosting The Late Late Show since 2015.

He has made a big splash on the programme, which has picked up a host of accolades including Creative Arts Emmys and Critics' Choice Television Awards.

The star has three young children with his wife Julia Carey.
