'We don't even use a real car!' - James Corden jokes about 'Carpool Karaoke' controversy
James Corden has poked fun at the whole Carpool Karaoke “does he drive or doesn’t he” saga, teasing: “Guys, we don't even use a real car.”
Fans of the series were flabbergasted when some footage emerged that suggested the Late Late Show host isn't always driving the car he's seen in.

The clip shared by a Twitter user showed Corden sat alongside Justin Bieber as the car was towed along the street in Los Angeles by another vehicle, which had a camera mounted on the front.

Many couldn't believe what they were seeing and were quick to make the joke that it would be more apt if it were called "car-pull karaoke". Others said finding out that Corden wasn’t behind the wheel was as devastating as finding out the truth about Santa.
Seeing the funny side, Corden posted a picture on Twitter showing him and Samuel L Jackson performing a Pulp Fiction sketch, sat on stools with a pretend steering wheel in front of them.
“Guys, we don't even use a real car,” it was captioned.

Corden’s tweet didn’t really clear up the question, but luckily Late Late Show executive producer Ben Winston has also weighed in.
He explained that the host does drive but that the “rig” is used for stunts.

“Not true!” he said of the speculation. “We only use a rig when we are doing a ‘stunt’ as part of the Carpool - when it would be impossible for James to drive!
“This has occurred only maybe 4 times in 50 or so carpools... Safety is key!”

By stunt I mean - dance routines / costumes / props etc ! Dont worry too much though. I’m pretty sure there are bigger issues to worry about! 🤣
