A pair of bad decisions and one hell of an effort proved to be the difference in Game 7.

Jake DeBrusk, who tore Toronto apart all series, victimized Jake Gardiner and Freddie Andersen with his second of the night and fifth of the series in a moment that would prove decisive in Boston’s exhilarating opening-round test versus the Maple Leafs.

The speedy DeBrusk turned on the jets as he busted down his off wing, turning Gardiner inside-out before finishing one through the wickets of Andersen. Gardiner mistimed his pivot and turned the wrong way, rendering himself completely out of position as he tried to make a play on DeBrusk cutting to the net.

Andersen, meanwhile, let in maybe his worst goal of the series, completely misreading DeBrusk’s shot and letting one through the legs after Gardiner’s miscue.
